Ann Witheridge is a fine artist and educator based in Battersea, London.
After graduating from Cambridge University in Modern Languages and History of Art, Ann studied under Geoffrey Humphries in Venice for a year. She went on to study and teach at the Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence for 5 years where she received numerous scholarships and awards.
Inspired by her formal training in Italy, Ann returned to England 2004 and co-founded Lavender Hill Studios, the first atelier in the UK. In September 2015 she founded the art school and atelier London Fine Art Studios and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or www.londonfineartstudios.com
Ann has had successful exhibitions in Venice, San Gimignano, New York and London. She continues to receive a range of commissions and contributes articles on the techniques of drawing and painting to art journals. She has also participated in projects from Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year to Poetry Portraits, a series of paintings of some of the UK’s best-loved poets.
Ann is happiest when speaking the language of drawing and painting, be it to an audience of young artists, en plein air or in the studio: art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. (Picasso).
